Cassie Perllmutter-Gifted and Talented Itinerant Teacher (Tuesdays) Room 232:

Cassie Perlmutter is our Gifted and Talented Teacher.

Cassie Perlmutter is new to Barnum, but not new to Denver Public Schools. Since 1988, she has been teaching in one capacity or another: 4th grade: bilingual Highly Gifted; middle school reading specialist; ESL and, for the past eleven years, as a gifted and talented teacher serving multiple schools.

Right now, Ms. Perlmutter is working on sending 3rd graders to the Butterfly Pavillion to get an "up close and personal" view of insects and 4th graders being educated in fishing and wildlife. Also, she is working with the fifth grade team for all to ski and snowboard.

When she is not at Barnum, Skinner or Hill Middle Schools, she is a mom to a fifth grade boy at Steele. If you would like to be in touch, feel free to email her or call 303-570-1180.

Highly Gifted Nominations due November 2, 2009

Parents, if you believe your child (K-7th grades) should be tested for Highly Giftedness, a nominations form is required and must be turned in to the Grifted and Talented Department, 1330 Fox ST., Denver, 720-423-8272, by November 2, 2009. A nomination form can be found in the main office with Ms. Lake, or downloaded from the Gifted and Talented Department website: http://gt.dpsk12.org. Go the the right hand corner where the forms are available in Spanish and English.
