Colorado became my home in 2011.  I love hiking and skiing and the beautiful Colorado mountains.  I also enjoy reading and writing!  I received my bachelors in Elementary Education and my masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida in Orlando.  I was born in Puerto Rico, but Florida is where I call my home.  I taught in Florida for 13 years.  During that time, I taught 3rd through 5th grade and was an ELA Resource Teacher/Instructional Dean.  I am currently on my 10th year in Denver Public Schools.  With DPS, I’ve taught 5th and 2nd grade.  My passion and love for education continues to grow every day.  At Banum Elem, I have had the opportunity to work as the Dean of Culture, Assistant Principal, and now principal. I am very excited to be a member of the Barnum Elementary Family.  I have gotten to know the students, parents, and staff and look forward to continuing to support Barnum’s growth.
